Our Family

Aloha! When Oscar joined our family, we struggled to figure out what to feed her. We were advised to keep her on one of the big kibble brands because it was "high-quality" and "the best option." It seemed excessive or even silly to consider fresh food.

Oscar didn't think so! She refused to eat. We'd pour a bowl in the morning and she wouldn't touch it until just before bed when she was so hungry she couldn't resist. We tried several brands and flavors but nothing changed.

Eventually, we did our research and were pretty shocked to learn about how kibble is actually made—by the same corporations making the processed foods and cosmetics in our grocery stores. They often use low-quality animal meals, which are powders made from the bits they can't legally sell to humans. They incorporate synthetic supplements to hit their nutritional targets rather than using whole food ingredients. And they "cook" this mixture at super high temperatures before spraying a combination of fat and flavor on top to entice dogs to actually eat this concoction. Oscar knew better, and now so do we.

There are many options out there when it comes to feeding your dog, but what we offer is honest, wholesome recipes made in small batches here on O’ahu. We use ingredients that come from our community and should stay in our community. If you have any questions at all, we'd love to chat 🤙
